The Bayerische Staatsbibliothek (Bavarian State Library) is the keeper of a great treasure of historical maps from all over the world. Many of these maps document the political, economic and territorial development of Bavaria. The oldest maps date back to the 16th century, the focus of the collection being on the 19th century. The BLO publishes a selection of the most beautiful and valuable specimens of this collection here.
